Rock and roll minister
One of the things that I love about Aussie-land is that Peter Garrett -- former lead singer for Midnight Oil -- is now the Minister of the Environment (analogous to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior). (Pictured here, in red.)
Kinda like having that dude from the Counting Crows as Secretary of the Treasury.
It just amuses me -- probably more than it should. :)

I could see that. Is he any good at his job?
Although as far as celebrity pols go, one of the reasons I refuse to move to California is that I wouldn't want to wake up every day knowing that Arnold Schwarzenegger was my governor. I have enough to concern myself with.

Reasonably so. (He defected from the Greens for the larger, more mainstream party.) Since he's not a trained politician, he sometimes speaks his mind -- then has to backpedal when he finds out he's contradicting the official party policy.
