Review of Johnny Cash biography movie "Walk the Line"

Finished watching the Johnny Cash biographical movie Walk the Line last night.  It's good enough, if you're looking for a movie to watch.  If you're a Johnny Cash fan:  yeah, you should see it.

It was good enough to keep me sufficiently interested to see it to the end; but not so good that I stayed up foolishly late to see it to the end.

My main criticism was that it seemed a little truncated:  either as a stylistic manifestation, or as a way of saving time, a lot of scenes weren't "completed", but instead, "implied".  As some fictive examples (i.e. not in the movie):  instead of showing a teenager graduating from high school, just show her getting out of her parents' car, dressed in the cap and gown, and walking towards the school auditorium; instead of showing a couple actually getting married, have them declare "Let's get married!" at the end of one scene, and in the next scene show them dressed formally and entering the local courthouse or clerk's office.

There were a lot of instances of this type of truncation in the movie -- which (to me) made it feel "incomplete".  I don't know whether this was stylistic, or just a time-saving device.

On the other hand:  they showcase a lot of less-famous Johnny Cash songs -- so that was informative.

Drug use, a little swearing (I think; I don't remember), and adultry.

Yeah -- worth seeing.
