Visiting hot vs. cold climate

I'm not into "hot," but I'll take it over "cold" any day! At least at the extremes: Like, Alaska or Antarctica, versus the jungle or the desert.

Reasoning: If you get lost in the desert, you can last almost a week. If you get lost in Antarctica -- especially if you get wet -- you're dead within a few hours. (See Jack London's "To Build a Fire.")

Although, hot places do have more poisonous critters than freezy places.

Try living in Hell, TX (otherwise known as Houston) for seven long years. That'll change your tune.

Having lived in both ends of the climate spectrum, it is easier IMO to get warmer when its cold than to cool off when its hot. You can always add layers, but there's a limit to how nude one can be.

I've "hotly" debated this topic with other people, and found that it largely comes down to personal preference. Some Like it Hot, and some not.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those that embrace the heat, and those that don't.

Don't think I truly **embrace** the heat -- just shrug it off and avoid yardwork during the daytime. ;)

When I bundle up, my hands and nose and cheeks stay cold.

Granted, in our situation it would help a lot if we had a better-trained dog, such that we didn't have to leave the door open (but we lock the security grille) all night. When we close it, the dog gets confused and lodges his deposit "whereever."

Sleeping with the door open all night is basically like sleeping outside.

Re: Nakedness. Yeah, there's a limit. But we creative types like to push the boundaries... ;) Also, a potential bonus if you have a partner...
